The Hero Initiative is excited to announce a new fundraising partnership
with WOWIO.com, an eBook/multi-media company that is supporting our efforts to
help comic book creators in need through its “Gifting for a Cause” program.
WOWIO.com is a digital resource that provides eBooks for people to read
online for FREE! Readers can purchase the eBooks they’re reading, and they also
have the option to send eBooks to friends and family as a gift for a reasonable
fee. Through “Gifting for a Cause,” when someone sends an eBook as a gift, they
automatically make a $1 donation to one of WOWIO’s nonprofit partners, including
the Hero Initiative.
Here’s how you can support the Hero Initiative by
“giving the gift of literacy:”
- Go to www.wowio.com
- Create a user account (it’s FREE!)
- Find the book you want to ‘gift’ someone and click on ‘Send PDF as Gift’
- Click on ‘Gifting For a Cause’ at the bottom of the digital dust jacket occasion list and then select the Hero Initiative
- Fill out the eBook gift form, including your own personalized message to your gift recipient
- Preview your eBook, which includes the Hero Initiative’s customized digital dust jacket, your personalized message page and a description of our mission
- Fill out the credit card form and check out
- Wait to hear from your friends how much they love their new eBook!
There are a variety of eBooks to fit anyone’s interests, and the cost to gift an eBook
ranges from $0.99 and up, fitting anyone’s budget. Some of the more inexpensive
gift options can be found in the categories of Articles and Essays, Classics,
and Comics. You can choose from a library of over 5,000 titles including
magazines and journals, graphic novels, children’s books, travel guides and more
– basically, there is something for everyone!
Every time you give the

the Hero Initiative, which supports our efforts to create a financial safety net
