Peter David Post-stroke Update February 28, 2013

February 28, 2013

While Peter David continues his recovery from a stroke suffered on December 30th of last year, Peter's wife Kathleen passes along this update:

"Hero and fans have contributed thousands of dollars, which are currently attacking a mounting pile of medical bills. But the good news is Peter is home and continues to improve a little more each day. Some days the improvement seems larger than others, like the day that he could finally lift his right arm over his head just using his right arm. Other times it is the small things like tying his shoes with all his fingers cooperating or being able to walk for longer and longer distances without tiring out.

"He is working very hard in outpatient therapy and on his own to continue the gains he has made so far. He is using his cane for balance only and less often, as his right leg becomes stronger.

"The double vision in his right eye is totally resolved, which he is very grateful for.

"The right arm is still a work in progress, but both the gross and fine motor skills are continuing to improve.

"He is enjoying being home again and his family is very happy to have him back.

"He is back to bowling and Tai Chi on a regular basis. It's  the ability to do the normal things that he is enjoying the most.

"The David family is so grateful to everyone who has helped them during this crisis."

Hero Initiative would like to remind you that you can help Peter directly AND get some great reading material by buying one of his books.

And it's ALWAYS a good time to make a donation to The Hero Initiative.
