Artist Dave Taylor on how Hero has helped him out

I’ve worked as an artist in this industry for almost three decades. I’ve witnessed artists and writers succeed and I’ve seen them fail. It can be an enormously demanding job and often it can break a person. The demands and responsibilities can become overwhelming, and without support it can be devastating. As a self-employed person, we don’t get free medical assistance, sick pay or holidays. All that has to be covered by our success, and the constant flux of a page rate. So if things head south, we can find ourselves in very extreme circumstances. At this point we need heroes.

Hero Initiative helped to dig me out of one such hole not too long ago. It’s difficult to express just how amazing…wonderful…incredible…the feeling is when you find that real heroes do exist and are waiting to help. Hero Initiative is vital.
