Hero Initiative Has Massive San Diego Comic-Con Plans
Two parties, top artists, exclusive Overstreet guide, and CGC Signature Series signings!
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 11, 2017) – The Hero Initiative, the charitable organization dedicated to helping veteran comic creators in medical or financial need, is traveling into Comic-Con International in San Diego, July 19 thru 23 at the San Diego Convention Center. We have exclusives, parties, and special guests throughout the weekend that you will not want to miss! Booth #5003 is the place to be!
The parties start on Wednesday with Stone Brewing’s annual Hop-Con! Stone’s famous w00tstout beer will flow at Stone World Bistro, and artist Walter Simonson has the honor to create this year’s label and print for the famed beer. Prints will be available for sale at the venue and at Hero’s booth at the convention! Don’t miss out on this epic event! Proceeds benefit Hero, so get your tickets NOW!
The good times continue to roll at Gabe Eltaeb’s Fourth Annual Comic Kickoff Fundraiser and Party at Basic Bar and Pizza at 410 10th Ave. in downtown San Diego from 9 p.m.-1 a.m.! Win great raffle prizes, meet amazing artists and have a couple drinks all to support Hero initiative! Artists in attendance include Todd Nauck, Jim Calafiore, Eddie Nunez and Carlos D’Anda.
Hero is thrilled to have Rob Liefeld draw Deadpool for Hero’s exclusive Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #47 cover! This yearly must-have of comics knowledge and pricing info is limited to 500 copies in hardcover only at $35, so make sure you grab one at out booth!

Hero Initiative hits East Coast Comic Con With Special Guests Dennis O’Neil and more
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 25, 2017) Hero Initiative, the non-profit that aids comic book creators in medical and financial need, hits the East Coast Comic Con at The Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, N.J. April 29-30.
Our own Board Member and veteran comic writer and editor Dennis O’Neil will be at the Hero booth all weekend! Make sure you stop on by to chat with Denny and get your books signed. Dennis O’Neil will appear exclusively at the Hero booth, #233
And that’s not all! Freshmen artist Will Torres and Spider-Man Noir writer Fabrice Sapolsky will also be at the Hero booth all weekend!
And Hero Initiative Ambassadors across the con floor will be collecting for our cause when you get your books signed, so make sure to pay them a visit. Bob Budiansky, Gerhard, Mike Grell, Joe Jusko, Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez and Kevin Maguire are all on the job, so do the right thing!

Hero Initiative breezes into the Windy City of Chicago for C2E2 With special guest Bill Willingham, beery party and more!

Los Angeles (April 10, 2017) Hero Initiative, the non-profit organization that aids comic book creators in medical and financial need, breezes into Chicago for the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, also known as C2E2, located at McCormick Place April 21-23.
And we have an amazing crew anchoring our booth, #1459! Writer/artist Bill Willingham, the man behind Fables and a NEW First Comics series to be announced at C2E2, will be EXCLUSIVELY at the Hero booth all weekend! He’ll be joined by Punisher and Batman artist Bill Reinhold, and Incredible Hulk writer Sean McKeever. Check them all out at booth #1459!
While at the booth, make sure you get in on our raffle for an amazing helicopter trip for two over downtown Chicago from Chicago Helicopter Experience, a $456 value! Raffle tickets will be on sale at the Hero booth all weekend, just $2 each!
And you can now DRINK your comics! Hero is hosting the WORLD PREMIERE of Ten Pin Creep, a Revival mystery story told across six beer labels! The party is Friday, April 21 from 7-10 pm at the Motor Row Gallery and Lofts 2345 S. Michigan Ave. (mere STEPS from the convention center!). Price is $4 per beer or $20 for the whole 6-pack! Non-alcoholic drinks will also be served, and creators Mike Norton and Tim Seeley WILL be in attendance autographing bottles! Many of your other fave creators such as Franco Aureliani, Amy Chu, Jenny Frison, Jody Houser, Ken Lashley, Sean McKeever, Dustin Nguyen, Steve Orlando, Mike Perkins, Greg Rucka, Liam Sharp and James Tynion IV will also be there, so don’t miss out on the party!

Hero Initiative heads to South Carolina Comic Con!
With Very Special Guest Dennis O’Neil
Los Angeles, CA (March 15, 2017) Hero Initiative, the non-profit organization that aids comic creators in medical and financial need, is heading to SC Comicon March 25-26 at the TD Convention center in Greenville, S.C! And we’ll have comics legend Dennis O’Neil as our exclusive guest!
O’Neil is one of comics’ greatest writers, and his work on Green Lantern/Green Arrow in the early 1970s energized the industry! He might be even more famous as Marvel Comics and DC Comics editor from the 1960s through the 1990s, where he revolutionized Daredevil and the Batman books. Dennis will be signing at the Hero Initiative booth all weekend, so make sure you stop by!
And Hero Initiative Ambassadors all over the floor will be collecting for Hero Initiative as well! Make sure you swing by on Sanford Greene, Ron Marz, Bart Sears, Andy Smith, Will Torres, and Mark Waid!
Hero Initiative heads to Emerald City Comicon! With Very Special Guest Barry Kitson
Los Angeles, CA (February 28, 2017) Hero Initiative, the non-profit organization that aids comic creators in medical and financial need, is heading to Emerald City Comicon February 2-5, in Seattle, Wash. at the Washington State Convention Center.
Joining us at booth #2120 is artist Barry Kitson, brought in all the way from Britain and best known as the artist of Amazing Spider-Man, Flash, and many more. Barry will be at the Hero booth throughout the weekend, so make sure you stop by for a sketch or a signature to help raise funds for Hero!
