FAQs
Here’s what you need to know.
How long does it typically take to receive a reply?
Typically one business day.
Can I call you instead?
Email is always best for a first contact. If we need to talk, totally cool. Send us your number.
Will my situation remain confidential if I apply for aid?
Yes. Hero Initiative will absolutely keep your situation confidential if that’s what you want. We only share stories with a creator’s explicit permission, and we never reveal details without consent. Your privacy and dignity come first.
Does Hero Initiative attend conventions or events where I can meet the team?
**ANSWER GOES HERE**
Do I have to be a “famous” creator to qualify for aid?
No, but an applicant must have been a working comic book writer, penciler, inker, colorist, or letterer on a work-for-hire basis for no less than 10 years since January 1, 1934. An applicant must demonstrate to the Hero Disbursement Committee adequate evidence of financial need via verbal and written documentation.
